Free Rickie Slaughter

Rickie Slaughter is a 37 year old man who has spent the last 17 years in prison  after being wrongfully convicted of a crime he did not commit.

  Despite these traumatic circumstances Rickie has managed to get his education, become a gifted spoken word poet and artist, become an activist for the rights of prisoners, while also maintaining close family ties and community relationships.  

Rickie’s wrongful incarceration is a symptom of everything that is wrong with our current justice system. 

We invite you to explore this site, to learn about Rickie’s case, to share his story with those around you.  We are determined to raise awareness, not only about Rickie’s plight, but also the roughly 20,000 other wrongfully incarcerated individuals in the United States.  

With your help we believe we can put enough pressure on the system to free our good friend and brother, Rickie Slaughter, while continuing the effort to reform our broken system of justice.  

It is incumbent upon us as a society to band together to right this grave wrong.
